Who are we and what do we do?
The student body of the Department of Sacred Music and Musicology comprises all the students on music degree courses in Greifswald. These are the B.A. subjects Musicology and Music, the Diplom in Sacred Music, but also various postgraduate master's programmes. The student body comprises a total of around 60 students.
Every year, three students belonging to the student body are elected to the Department Student Council (FSR). This is an official university body and therefore fulfils various tasks pursuant to the statutes of the student body. This includes, above all, the representation of subject-specific interests within the student body, but also towards the Department and the University. Of course, the FSR's tasks also include the promotion of student culture, i.e. the organisation of various events.
Do you have an issue you would like us to help you with or would you like to get involved?
We welcome all suggestions, ideas and proposals for the Department, the organisation of studies or our events, and the easiest way to get in contact with us on these issues is to attend one of our meetings, which are always open to all members of the Department's student body:
As soon as we know, we will publish when we will be meeting during the lecture-free period and in the next semester.
Another opportunity for you to voice your concerns and present your interests is the student body's General Assembly. This is where all students from the entire student body at the Department get together for a meeting. The Department Student Council presents its work over the past six months and discusses the future plans for the Department's student body with all those present.
The next student General Assembly will take place in summer semester 2025 and will be announced in good time via email.
